Project Overview

I repurposed an old HP EliteBook as a dedicated Ubuntu Server, transforming it into the foundation of my home-lab infrastructure. The server runs Apache for web hosting and Nextcloud with a MariaDB backend, providing a secure private cloud solution for storing and syncing files (photos, documents, media) across all my devices.

I configured custom subdomains with HTTPS using Let's Encrypt, allowing me to self-host tools and web applications accessible from anywhere on the internet. This hands-on project deepened my understanding of server administration, networking, SSL certificates, and cloud storage infrastructure.
